Matching Gifts
Matching Gifts are pretty straightforward. They maximize the donations made by individuals to Tedy’s Team. Companies that implement matching gift programs will contribute to a nonprofit that an employee donates to, usually matching their donation at a 1:1 ratio. Some companies, however, will match gifts at up to a 4:1 ratio – which is a huge impact for our fundraising.
How do you get this match? Simple! As the Donor and Employee of the Matching Gift company, you must submit matching gift paperwork either electronically or manually in order to take advantage of your employers’ matching gift programs.
How do you find out if your company matches? A few ways. You can ask your HR department or search online to see if your company matches.
Tedy’s Team benefits from matching gift programs by receiving twice as many donations and you benefit from matching gifts by maximizing your donations without the heavy lifting. Your company benefits by contributing to a cause that you care about. It’s a WIN-WIN all around!
Fundraising and Volunteer Matches
Fundraising matches are very similar to matching gifts in that Tedy’s Team receives a monetary donation when you have donated your time to volunteer for us.
When you participate in a fundraising event we have, your employer might match the money you raised through sponsorships or other donations. Those funds are usually matched at a 1:1 ratio and have a maximum ranging from $1,000 to $25,000.
Same goes for volunteer hours! The hours essentially reward you for taking time out of your busy day to donate your time and energy to Tedy’s Team. There are usually thresholds that must be met in order for you to make the most of a volunteer program. For instance, a company might offer a $250 stipend to Tedy’s Team for every 15 hours that you volunteer with us.
Companies normally only provide grants to one nonprofit per employee per year. Regardless, you can still maximize the impact that you make in your local communities by taking full advantage of your company’s volunteer program.
