The November 26th event was the first of four events where three-time Super Bowl champion, Tedy Bruschi, will connect with members of the Boston community to help raise awareness of stroke and heart disease, while promoting active and healthy lifestyles.
The event, which was held at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center in Roxbury Crossing, featured a presentation from Cherelle Rozie, MPH, CHES, Community Impact Director at the American Heart Association of Greater Boston, on the organization’s EmPOWERED To Serve™ program and other heart-healthy tips, followed by a Q&A with Tedy Bruschi before ending the evening with a group walk around the Reggie Lewis Track. The Talk & Walks are geared toward the Roxbury and Boston communities, especially those who may not be familiar with or have access to heart healthy educational tips.
After the 2019 Boston Marathon® on April 15th, there will be three more Talk & Walk events over the spring and summer leading up to the 5th Annual Road to Wellness 5K event at The Dimock Center on Saturday, September 7, 2019.
